  In the summer of 2003, Ko & Associates was selected by the Bridge Maintenance Unit of the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the first ever inspection program for metal traffic signal poles and mast arms. We were charged with identifying, documenting, and inspecting all of the metal poles on state-owned roads in Wake, Durham, Franklin, and Person Counties.
The initial contract was for an estimated 250 poles in division 05, but by the end of the contract period our teams had identified and inspected nearly twice that number.
